Why do wives get to do all the cool stuff?

Filed under: Shake n bake, baby! — fattires @ 10:46 pm

I hate my wife.

Well, not really hate, but I have a problem with her attitude. She comes home last night at 3:30 in the morning and expects me to be all happy to see her. I yawned, stretched and scratched my junk and left the hellos to a simple, “ugh”. No, she didn’t come in from drinking (although I almost would prefer that). She just got home from 3 days of skiing in Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and Keystone. She is all smiley at 3 in the morning, now mind you I have given her no reason to smile in a number of years at that time of the day or night … so, keep the smiling to a minimum, get in bed and let me sleep. Oh, and the kids made a mess while you were gone. Can you clean that?

My arm still hurts where she hit me.

She did bring me some sweet schwag. I like decals :-)

I’ll like her again some day.

When I am hungry.

I accidently went and got busy

Filed under: Shake n bake, baby! — fattires @ 9:10 am

I wish I could report I got busy … ya know …. busy! But no, it is all the good stuff like honey-do lists, work, eating, kids, special requests, soccer, eating, basketball, school functions, work some more, eat, stay off computer make wife happy … ya know all the crap that is intended to make my life seem more “full” and “satisfying”.
I suppose in the grand scheme of things it does, but I am not completely convinced since I have not had a moment of clear thought for 3 months now. There is this monster that takes charge and pulls me away from bikes, chain lube and big-talkin-didja-see-that-sweet-move stories told in the parking lot after a good ride.
Part of this winter has been training. I have trained a lot. I sit at the table with my elbows out to throw some good chucks and blocks, then I use the biggest spoon I can to fill the maw. I will, once again, meet the standard for Clydesdale. Phew! It was close there for a while.
But, seriously. I think I figured out who bubba really is.
You decide -

Notice and resemblance? Taters are the key.

No way can I win now.

I am out.
This has been the first installment of trivial nonsense
